Rick Ross Says Wale Has Kanye West 'Potential'

Rick Ross might not have gotten his man in Wiz Khalifa, who he wanted to ink to a deal with his Maybach Music Group, but the Miami boss' first pick, Wale, wasn't a bad backup.Ross thinks the Washington, D.C., rhyme spitter has a chance to follow in the footsteps of another guy who was also considered "unconventional" when he first signed on with his crew. Wale could be the next Kanye West, Ross told MTV News."They may be unconventional, but to me, it comes naturally," Ross said about moving to sign Wale and Philadelphia rapper Meek Mill.

"After spending months of my summer working with Kanye, I learned and seen so many different visions and ideas come to light. I was there for 'Flashing Lights,' when it was actually titled another title that me and Kanye went back and forth about. And when I think about Wale, I think about Kanye.

"And the kind of rhymes Wale has been laying down the last few months, since we been in the studio, I'm pretty sure there's gonna be a lot of similarities as far as the pictures that he paints," the Bawse continued. "Of course, Kanye is one of the greats of our time but I see that same potential in Wale."

At the moment, Ross and his MMG roster, which also includes Pill, his Triple C fam and Masspike Miles, among others, are working on the Self Made compilation set to arrive on "Maybach 24." Ross suggested Wale's next solo album should be out "two to three months after that" group project.

While the Maybach Music head said Wale is poised to make big waves, the Miami MC was making waves of his own over the weekend, but probably not the kind he's aiming for. Ross was arrested on Friday in Louisiana on a marijuana possession charges and subsequently released with a misdemeanor summons. Ross is now in New York and scheduled to take the stage in Long Island on Monday night (March 28) as part of Lil Wayne's I Am Still Music Tour lineup

Snoop Dogg Remembers Nate Dogg As A 'Genuine' Homey

Nate Dogg was laid to rest this past weekend in his hometown of Long Beach, California. Several artists came to pay their last respects, including Dr. Dre, Daz and Kurupt. They gathered alongside the G-Funk crooner's friends and family on a gloomy Saturday morning. At his funeral, an emotional Snoop Dogg spoke about how the two attended the same high school."1986, Poly High School, that's where we connected for the first time," Snoop reflected on his friend. "We didn't know each other, but the music connected us. We built a brotherhood, a friendship."

On Monday (March 28), MTV News caught up with Snoop after his appearance on "The Seven," and he elaborated on what his friendship with Nate meant to him.

"As a friend, Nate Dogg, was like a brother, a homey, someone who understood Snoop Dogg, someone who understood the struggle of Snoop Dogg, because he was a part of the struggle of Snoop Dogg. We created a group, 213: me, him and Warren G, back in the late '80s that spawned our careers."

The rapper and the crooner collaborated frequently throughout their careers, recording G-Funk hits like "It Ain't No Fun" and "B**** Please," but for Snoop it was all about the time they spent together coming up.

"His friendship meant so much to me, because it was more about before we made records, as opposed to when people [saw] us in the limelight. It was the things he did for me as a friend before I had a record deal. The belief he had in me as an artist, as a homey, and just staying down and sticking to the rules of the game. That's what made Nate so genuine."

(AllHipHop News) Young Buck's troubles continue to deepen, as claims against the rapper have reached $11.5 million, with $10 million of the claims coming from his former label, G-Unit. (March 21st).According to The Tennessean, G-Unit Records has filed a $10 million claim against former artist Young Buck in the event that he breaches his contract with the label, in his ongoing bankruptcy case.

Rapper 50 Cent has also filed a $171,000 claim against Young Buck, claiming he loaned his former artist $300,000 in 2005.

In all, Young Buck has 14 claims against him in the bankruptcy proceedings, which total a whopping $11.5 million dollars.

Young Buck's lawyer Robin Mitchell Joyce blamed some of Young Buck's financial troubles on the deal he signed with 50's G-Unit imprint.

She claims that G-Unit managed Young Buck, handled all of his business, provided legal counseling and acted as his booking agent.

This could have put anyone working with Young Buck in danger of running afoul of 50 Cent, especially after the two men began to feud.

"One of the biggest problems with Buck's situation is not only that it's so complex, but also that he didn't understand it," Joyce told The Tennessean. "The money went in and the money went out and Buck's universe of knowledge about his financial state is a balance on an ATM receipt. … Buck never knew at one point, at several points, that he was a millionaire."

According to Joyce, she has submitted a $500,000 budget for a new album since Young Buck is technically still signed to the label, although his releases through G-Unit have been put on hold.

Joyce believes the label must either approve the budget and release Young Buck's third album for G-Unit or let him out of his contract.

Young Buck is also facing 10 years in prison over a federal gun rap after a March 7th arrest, which accused the rapper of illegally being in possession of a gun in August of 2010.

Facebook Founders Sold Shares

Some of the most notable newcomers to this year’s 2011 World’s Billionaires list are three of Mark Zuckerberg’s Facebook co-founders.By now millions know these folks, or at least a fictionalized version of them, from having watched “The Social Network” movie. They include not just Zuckerberg, but co-founder and former buddie Eduardo Saverin; co-founder and former roommate Dustin Moskovitz (who barely has a role in the film version), and the social networking firm’s first president Sean Parker. Saverin, who stayed behind when Zuckerberg and Moskovitz first went to California, originally had a 30% stake in the site. Facebook sued him for allegedly interfering with the business and insisting on keeping that stake; Saverin countersued. The parties settled; Saverin apparently got a 5% stake and a cofounder bio on Facebook’s site. Parker, played by Justin Timberlake, who had a smaller stake than the rest, was the only one who did not make the list of 400 Richest Americans in the fall but now he qualifies.

That’s because Facebook’s valuation has more than doubled since Spring 2010, based on a $1.5 billion injection brokered by Goldman Sachs that valued the still privately held social network at $50 billion. Zuckerberg’s fortune surged 238% since last year to $13.5 billion, and his Facebook cofounders easily secured spots on the Billionaires list. But their net worths are lower than we first expected. After weeks of digging, we finally got a well-placed source to confirm their exact shareholdings in Facebook. Turns out all four of them have been selling shares.

* Mark Zuckerberg has reportedly sold about 5%, apparently having done so last fall from what we hear. He still owns 25%.
* Dustin Moskovitz, who used to have 6%, now has 5%, again having apparently cash out a chunk last fall.
* Eduardo Saverin has been reducing his stake since 2009, and now has around 2%, which makes sense given how things ended between him and Zuckerberg.
* Sean Parker, who once had 4%, now has just under 3%.

Who can really blame these young entrepreneurs for selling? With these sky-high valuations, it probably isn’t such a bad idea for these young guys to take some money off the table.

None of the four would answer us directly when we asked for comment. (Actually Saverin wouldn’t answer us about anything). Perhaps they don’t want it getting out that they have sold. It will all be disclosed soon enough when the firm is required to file its S-1 before their imminent IPO. In the meantime we’ll keep our ears op

Diddy,Jay-Z Make Forbes' Wealthiest Hip-Hop Artists List.Dr. Dre, 50 Cent and Birdman round out the

Hip-hop is just as lucrative a business as the next, and there's nobody that knows that better than Diddy. As a record executive, fashion designer and vodka seller, the entertainment mogul takes the top spot on Forbes magazine's 2011 list of Wealthiest Hip-Hop Artists, which was released on Thursday (March 10).

With a whopping fortune of $475 million, the "Dirty Money" frontman's net worth is attributed to his undertakings in his Sean John clothing line and Bad Boy Worldwide record label. However, his largest profit comes from his deal with vodka brand Ciroc.

Right behind Diddy is Jay-Z, whose net worth totals $450 million from his Roc Nation label, fashion line and advertising. Among his recent extracurricular projects is his memoir "Decoded," which was released last fall.

Dr. Dre nabs the third spot on the list with a bank account worth $125 million, rendered by his own solo career as well launching those of Snoop Dogg and Eminem.

Forbes' list of Hip-Hop's Wealthiest Artists rounds out with a tie between Curtis "50 Cent" Jackson and Birdman at $100 million. While 50 Cent took home a hefty paycheck for the sale of his shares in Vitamin Water to Coca-Cola, Cash Money Records co-founder Birdman continues to rake in the dough from his Young Money-Cash Money artist roster, which includes Nicki Minaj, Drake and Lil Wayne.

Forbes revealed that the list was formed in the same manner as its list of the world's billionaires, taking into account current holdings, past earnings and financial documentation. For those wondering why hip-hop heavyweight Russell Simmons isn't on the list, the mag's editors say they wanted to keep their list exclusive to performers

Justin Bieber Was 'Trapped' in a Liverpool Hotel Due to 'Possible Riot'

Justin Bieber was trapped in a Liverpool hotel today because there were hundreds of screaming Beliebers outside of the building, creating a "possible riot situation." But, fear not, Justin found a way to greet his fans AND avoid jail time.He tweeted: "that was great! got to say hi to everyone. we are following the rules. lol. #LOVEMYFANS"

Before that, he and his team were trying hard to make everyone happy. He wrote on his Twitter page: "trying to work it out so i can say whatup to my fans" after he was told by police not to approach his balcony at the The Hard Days Night Hotel to greet them. Authorities were worried that if he showed his face he'd cause a riot, and then have to be arrested, reported TMZ.

TMZ also reported 25 guards were set up around the hotel to handle the huge group of about 500 that gathered outside the building.

Justin is scheduled to play in the city’s ECHO arena tomorrow night. Earlier this afternoon the heartthrob posted a picture from his hotel and tweeted: “This is crazy. There are like thousands of people out there. Love everybody but gonna try and get some sleep. Please don’t scream. Lol"

Lupe Fiasco's often-delayed, crititically panned new album is going big dogg status on the charts.Billboard is reporting that the disc will hit # 1 on its Top 200 chart with sales anywhere from 190,000 to 240,000.The numbers are amazing considering the album doesn't feature a big hit and the troubles Lupe endured trying to get the record on shelves.

Prior to this album, Lupe's highest selling debut was 143,000 with "The Cool" which took the number 15 spot in 2007. His highest previous spot on Bllboard was number 8 with "Food and Liquor" in 2006.
